State Highway 130 |
The Greater Austin – San Antonio Corridor Council partners on projects through out the entire region. Currently three (3) projects stand at the forefront, each developing to revolutionize this regions way of generating economic growth. The first project is State Highway 130. As Central Texas has grown, so has its traffic congestion. SH 130, is a project of the Texas Department of Transportation and is intended to relieve traffic in the area by creating a commuter and NAFTA corridor alternative to Interstate 35 (I-35). When completed, SH 130 will extend from north of Georgetown east of metropolitan Austin to I-10 near Seguin. SH 130 is one element of the Central Texas Turnpike Project. With the addition of 65 miles of new toll roads, the CTTP will improve mobility and safety in the region. The first phase of the CTTP, which is expected to be completed by December 2007, includes Loop 1, SH 45 North and the northern 49 miles of SH 130. |
